This week we have been fortunate to spend time with ten Chinese students. We have learnt about their culture especially Chinese New Year.

Festival of learning week

The last week of half term was Bearwood’s festival of learning week. The whole school focused on inspirational people, different cultures and maths through the ages.

Year 5 have been busy researching inspirational black people from the past and today.

What was your favourite activity and why? What did you learn?

 

Autumn 2 topic – World War Two

Next half term Maple base will be learning about World War II. They will be thinking about the soldiers, families and children who were involved in the war. Maple base will be discussing what impact WWII has had on Britain today.

11.11.15- Both classes will visit Scaplen’s court in Poole to deepen their learning.

Wednesday 11th November- remembrance day

Year 5 and 6 will be visiting Scaplen’s Court in Poole to deepen their learning of World War II- a letter will be sent out nearer the time.
